Die Ballen werden ge\u00f6ffnet, dann werden die Flaschen gewaschen und sortiert. Leistungsstarke rotierende Messer zerkleinern sie in etwa 1 cm gro\u00dfe Flocken, w\u00e4hrend das System alle restlichen Verunreinigungen herausfiltert. Dieser Prozess verwandelt den starren Kunststoff in eine weiche, woll\u00e4hnliche Textur. Dann beginnt der Filzprozess: Tausende von Nadeln mit Widerhaken stechen wiederholt durch das Material, wodurch die Fasern miteinander verbunden werden und Filz entsteht. In einem einzigen Formgebungsschritt verwandelt eine 3D-Pressmaschine eine flache Filzplatte in ein starkes, stabiles St\u00fcck, wobei die weiche, woll\u00e4hnliche Textur erhalten bleibt.
