The Importance of Water Resistance in Acoustic Panels

Standard acoustic panels may lose performance when exposed to moisture and water. Water absorption increases the panel’s weight, reduces sound absorption efficiency, and prolonged humidity can lead to mold growth. In addition, moisture trapped inside the panel for extended periods may increase the risk of permanent damage over time.

Water-Resistant Acoustic Performance with Ichos

Thanks to its hydrophobic structure, Ichos repels water and maintains its form. It delivers high acoustic performance without losing its lightweight nature, supporting consistent sound control even in humid environments. With strong resistance to mold and mildew, it can be used safely in both indoor and outdoor applications. Its fast evaporation capability also helps prevent moisture from remaining inside the panel for long periods.
